Food Waste Pick-up & Composting Service in Traverse City, Michigan
This year, we started a food waste pickup service for the local organic food Co-Op. The old produce that isn’t good enough for the local food bank gets placed in bins. And once a week, we pick it up with truck and trailer, then we unload it here at Realize Homestead and create a compost pile inside the chicken pen. This food would otherwise go to the landfill. So the Co-op is happy to pay us to haul it away and compost it for them. Let us know if you’re interested in some finished compost!
